Frank James on the left and his brother Jesse pose with pistols. Young, but proved deadly. Done in digital impressionist style based upon the original archived photograph, but IS NOT a photograph. Jesse Woodson James was born in September 1847 and died in April 1882 at the age of 34. James fought with Confederate Guerrillas during the Civil War and formed the notorious James Gang with his brother Frank afterwards, which robbed banks and trains in the mid-west. James was wounded during the war and during harrowing bank robberies but managed to rally from his injuries. He was quoted as saying that he was never far from his pistols .... and, kept them on his person at all times. James was murdered by Robert Ford, a member of his gang whom he trusted. Ford had been secretly negotiating with the Missouri Governor for a reward to bring in the outlaw.
