The design on this product is inspired by Seaweed, a 1890 pattern designed by John Dearle for Morris and Company, a company owned by William Morris. Dearle was a talented designer who started out as an apprentice under William Morris and later rose to the position of chief textile designer at Morris and Company. Some of the firm's most beautiful woven textiles were created under his leadership.
