George Orwell was a British novelist and a socialist who was probably functioning as a mouthpiece for the elites. The dystopias presented in his works are probably forcasts of the future that his fellow Fabian Society socialists were expecting to create. This is what he says about wartime propaganda: "Every war when it comes, or before it comes, is represented not as a war but as an act of self-defense against a homicidal maniac." What he doesn't mention is that usually our own government has created, trained and funded the "homicidal maniac" du jour, but that's a tale for a another tshirt.
