Don't you just love the 18th Century? So elegant! We need to remember to appreciate the French for their friendship and substantial aid during the Revolutionary War. We would never have made it without them. Here's what the Marquis de Lafayette, American Revolutionary War hero and something of an unofficial "son figure" to his commanding officer George Washington, had to say about insurrection. "When the government violates the people's rights, insurrection is, for the people and for each portion of the people, the most sacred of the rights and the most indispensable of duties."
