Ayutthaya is a historical city located in the central plains of Thailand, about 80 kilometers north of Bangkok. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, which was founded in 1350 and lasted until its destruction in 1767. During its heyday, the Ayutthaya Kingdom was one of the wealthiest and most powerful kingdoms in Southeast Asia. It was a major center of trade and commerce, with a strategic location on the Chao Phraya River that allowed for easy access to the sea.
