The next generation successor to the Hubble Space Telescope, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, is on station and producing its first usable full color images of the cosmos. They are truly amazing. Thousands of galaxies, some with their infrared light reaching to us from nearly the beginning of the universe, are visible in sharp focus. In the coming years, JWST will produce incredible new images of planets, stars, nebulae, dust clouds, and galaxies to advance the science of astronomy.
