The BioSentinel mission is one of CubeSats carried along on the SLS Artemis 1 mission to the Moon. The BioSentinel payload is two strains of yeast that will be studied to assess the impact on deep space radiation on genetic material. This will help NASA understand the health risks that astronaut crews will face on long duration missions, such as trips to mars or nearby asteroids.
