The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, and the beginning of the summer season. It typically arrives about June 21 when the Sun is farthest north n the Northern Hemisphere and on December 22 when the Sun is farthest south in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy this day, as things are as bright as they are going to get. Days get shorter from now on until we reach the winter solstice and it starts all over again.
