This oval porcelain ornament features the altar in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Established in 1833, this old church sits high on a hill overlooking the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers in the historic town of Harpers Ferry. Somehow, this magnificent structure came through America's Civil War though it was literally in the middle of many battles. The altar is adorned with the stations of the cross as is tradition, surrounded by magnificent stained glass windows.
