This design features an image of the Cygnus Loop nebula, showing its wispy tendrils of hot dust and gas in bright blue. The nebula is located around 1,500 light-years away from our solar system. A nebula (the plural is "nebulae" or "nebulas") is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other ionized gases. The Cygnus Loop Nebula is a supernova remnant, which means that it was produced after a massive stellar explosive around 5,000 to 8,000 years ago.
