This Romanticism landscape titled, An Eruption of Mount Vesuvius, with the Procession of St. Januariu'-s Head is made by the famous painter, Joseph Wright using oil on canvas in 1778. Joseph Wright of Derby also painted Dovedale by Moonlight, capturing the rural landscape of a narrow valley called Dovedale, 14 miles northeast of Wright's hometown of Derby, at night with a full moon. It hangs in the Allen Memorial Art Museum at Oberlin College.
