Schmidt (Saar-Rhine) Family Arms Beer Stein

Schmidt family arms emblazoned as a seal after the 17th century arms found in Seibmacher's Wappenbuch V(2) . This Huguenot family originated in Rappoltsweiler, Alsace, and were exiled to Saarbrucken in 1685 after the repeal of the Edict of Nantes. Over the next century, members of the family settled along the Upper Rhine and east. The family shield has three stars on an upper blue field (azure), two broken golden horseshoes with nine flames on black lower field (sable).
