Daughter in a Rocker (1917-1918) | Original artwork American artist Henry Lyman Saÿen (1875-1918). Saÿen was an electrical engineer who also distinguished himself as an abstract artist. In 1906, he became enamored with modern art. Many of his paintings are strongly influenced by the bright colors, abstract forms and rapid brushstrokes of other famous modern artists at the time.
