Conservation Canines Postcard featuring Haley, a beautiful and talented Labrador Retriever born in 2004. Haley works with Conservation Canines and is trained to detect Wolverine and Fisher Scat . Human population growth and consumption are placing ever-increasing requests on the environment. Monitoring these impacts requires reliable and accessible measures of wildlife abundance, distribution and physiological health, collected over broad landscapes. The Center for Conservation Biology’s mission is to develop and apply such noninvasive field, lab and analytical methods to address pressing conservation problems worldwide. Our dogs are happy to work all day traversing plains, climbing up mountains, clambering over rocks and fallen trees, and trekking through, all with the expectations of reward - playing with their ball - after successfully locating wildlife scat. We rescue these dogs have satisfied career traveling the world to help save and other species.
