California 1849 Gold Rush New England Associated Pioneers 1892 commemorative souvenir art poster. This is a restored copy of an antique chromolithograph California gold mining pioneers commemorative montage titled New England Associated California Pioneers of '49. This amazing historic early California gold rush illustrative document was designed by G.G. Spurr and published in 1892 by Forbes Lithographers of Boston, Massachusetts. This profusely illustrated collage features historic detailed mid nineteenth century vignettes of the 1840s California Gold Rush phenomenon including gold prospecting miners, a northern California Native American with tipis, Sutter's Fort, a northern California bear and cougar, Rancho del Paso, pioneers with ox drawn Conestoga wagons "Entering the Land of Promise", Finding the First Gold 1848, San Francisco 1849, A Mining Scene, Crossing the Isthmus [of Panama], signs nailed to a tree pointing to the early gold strike locales of Feather River and Mokelumne Hill, signatures of honorable members of the society and a prominently featured gold miner's shovel and pick axe.
