Macpherson Scottish Clan Cluny Castle Xmas Ceramic Ornament Affiliate icon

Cluny Castle at Laggan, near Newtonmore, was the hereditary home of the Macpherson clan chiefs until 1932. Its photo is printed against the familiar red, black and gray clan tartan. The "P" is NOT capitalized because "pherson" means "parson" and is not a proper name. One of the most famous of the Macpherson clan, and resident of Cluny Castle at the time of the Battle of Culloden, was featured in Robert Louis Stevenson's "Kidnapped." The tartan continues to the back side of the ornament and features a few lines of the clan/castle history. The photo in this design was shot by Cosmolinzeegordon and is licensed as his/her own work, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=32429062 Unported license It has been modified for color, contrast, size, resolution and the addition of text. The tartan is under crown copyright, courtesy of The Scottish Register of Tartans.
