In this stunning painting, At Mouquin's, William Glackens portrayed members of his circle the New York restaurant Mouquin’s, one of their favorite meeting places. Jeanne Mouquin, the proprietor’s wife, is depicted with James B. Moore, a wealthy restaurateur. The artist’s wife, Edith and art critic Charles Fitzgerald are reflected in the mirror behind them. This 1905 public domain piece is made available through the open access program at the Chicago Institute of Art.
