In legend, bears were once a Cherokee clan. They are our relatives. This ornament's design recognizes that by having a bear paw with the Cherokee word for bear (Yonah) in the paw and layering it over the colors of the Circle of Life passing through the Four Directions. These symbols have deep roots in Cherokee Indian lore. Yellow, Red, Black, and White are traditional Sacred Colors. On the back of the ornament are the words "Bear is my Brother".
