Savannah's Bird Girl, the famous bronze statue of a girl holding two bowls in her outstretched arms, was sculpted by artist Sylvia Shaw Judson in 1936. For more than 50 years, the statue, nicknamed "Little Wendy," quietly presided over a family burial plot in a historic Savannah cemetery. She became famous when her photograph appeared on the cover of The Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
