Riders of the Sidhe, c. 1911 by John Duncan (1866-1945). Duncan was a Scottish painter who focused on Celtic folklore and legends about King Arthur. The Sidhe were fairies, also known as Tuatha de Danann, in Irish and Scottish myths. 19th and early 20th Century Pre-Raphaelite paintings, engravings and art often had a medieval theme, focusing on topics of chivalry and romanticism.
