Random Acts of Kindness Postcard - Daisy
A couple years ago I found myself going through a rather trying time. I didn't realize just how much it showed. Walking down the hallway at work one day a gentleman smiled at me and said "Smile, it can't be that bad". I gave him a weak smile and kept walking. A couple days later I passed him in the hall again and he simply said "Smile". I smiled back. A couple days after that again we passed in the hall and he didn't need to say anything - I saw him and like Pavlov's dog I smiled - no words needed. Within a week I was smiling and greeting him with "Good Morning" whenever we passed. Within a few months I found myself making an effort to smile whenever I walked in the hallways and somewhere along the way I started greeting anyone who made eye contact with a hearty good wishes. I guess I can honestly say he changed my life for the better with that simple statement "Smile it can't be that bad". This is going to be my year of passing that along. I've vowed to Practice Random Acts of Kindness and Senseless Acts of Beauty. And because Some of the people I leave little kindnesses for may not see me every day I am going to leave them a little note they can keep as a reminder ... How about you?
