While touring a windmill, I took a picture looking up through the gears. What an amazing sight! This is a wonderful example of engineering and ingenuity combining to serve the community. Most parts were made of wood except the actual grinding plates, which were enormous, by the way. Next time you tour something with moving parts, remember to look up.
