There are many kinds of wolf spiders. The name refers to a variety of spiders that run around actively hunting for their dinner. They don't build a capture web. The females carry their egg case attached to their backside until the babies hatch, then the babies crawl onto her back and she carries them with her until they are big enough to strike out on their own.
