Things are a bit different here in Alaska. Get your own shirt sporting the logo of Fairbanks’ North Star Polo Club. Depicts a polo player mounted on a bull moose; his mallet raised. Actually, riding a moose as if it were a horse is not unheard of. Moose are easily trained when they are young and become close to their handlers. Sweden and Russia, and possibly some other Scandinavian countries experimented with moose cavalry units. Moose are far superior to horses as mounts in often marshy tundra and northern forests. Moose as cavalry mounts ultimately failed as the animals could not become accustomed to rifle and artillery fire.
