Showing their best profiles, a trio of North American West Coast seabirds are spotlighted in this 1932 Jazz Age painting, done in the Art Deco Style. On the right, with flashes of iridescent plumage, an adult Brandt's Cormorant (Phalacocorax penicillatus) is joined by its counterpart, seen on the far left. That bird is young. The rich earth tones in the feathers reveal this bird is immature in age. Brandt's Cormorants inhabit myriad of islands and shorelines for the Province of British Columbia, in Canada; the States of Alaska, Washington, Oregon and California, in the United States of America; and the States of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa and Nayarit, in the United Mexican States. The central bird with a lustrous feathered sheen is an adult Baird's Cormorant (Phalacrocorax pelagicus resplendens). This is the Summer Look; temporary to the season. This seabird's West Coast destinations are set in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California and Baja California. ** I created a series of 4 different t-shirts for this special artwork. This one and another in white have the painting on both sides. Another in white has the image on the front. For these 3 items, I explored chromatism to place a frame around the art. Eight different tints are featured. The fourth t-shirt uses black fabric. For contrast, I removed the top, left and right sides of the frame. I retained the lower 4 parallel colors at the border. For all of these items I added the correct English and scientific names of the birds, adding them to the lower section. You can always have this design for playing cards, drinking mugs, tumblers, a poster, greeting card, gift wrapping paper, puzzle, shower curtain, blanket and more. Zazzle makes it possible.
