During troubled times in Europe when European countries had revolutions, and in the case of Russia, who eventually murdered their royal family (close relations to Queen Victoria), the British Royal Family were rightly worried in case 'revolution fever' crossed the English Channel into Britain. Hence Queen Victoria's famous quote: "Give my people plenty of beer, good beer, and cheap beer, and you will have no revolution among them"! She was NOT amused!
