I took this photo of a Northern Rough-winged Swallow at Rose Canyon Park in San Diego, CA. Fun fact: If you petted one of these birds, you might understand where they get the name. Northern Rough-winged Swallows have tiny hooks on the edge of their primary feathers, so running your finger along a feather from the base to the tip feels like touching a rough file.
