This is a vintage illustration by Johnny Gruelle for his children's book, "Orphant Annie" (1921) which was a continuation of "Orphant Annie" stories and poems previously created by his late friend James Whitcomb Riley. "Orphant Annie" was the predecessor to "Little Orphan Annie" which is better known today. Gruelle was also the creator of the Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, which he originally designed for his young daughter. The card is blank inside for your handwritten message.
