Vintage Louis Wain Cats Christmas Party Poster
This adorable Christmas themed poster for cat lovers and cat owners features the wonderful, whimsical world of famous English cat artist Louis Wain. The illustration shows a cats' Christmas party in full swing, with cats and kittens having a whale of a time as they add the finishing touches to the Christmas tree and open their presents. Originally in black and white, I've added a dash of colour to the festive scene. The poster would be perfect for admirers of Louis Wain and fans of vintage cat art. The artwork was commissioned by the Detroit Publishing Company for publication in Leslie's Weekly in December 1906 and the original image is courtesy of The Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division, Washington DC.
