Vintage Tournee du Chat Noir Cabaret Cushion
This cushion for cat lovers and fans of vintage cat art features one of the most famous black cats in the art world. The black cat with the brilliant yellow eyes is the star of the iconic Tournee du Chat Noir poster by Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen. Steinlen created the poster advertising the forthcoming tour of Le Chat Noir cabaret artists in 1897 for Rudolphe Salis, his friend and owner of the nightclub. As well as the poster, I've added two smaller versions of the cat on each side of the pillow, adding a colorful striped halo to the cat’s head so that he almost looks lit from within.
