Restored Richmond Hill Lettuce Crate Label Metal Print Affiliate icon

This is a reproduction of a vintage lettuce crate label used for Iceberg lettuce. The lettuce was grown in the Richmond Hill, Ga area during the 1930s and 1940s. The copy has been digitally restored and remastered in Photoshop based on the original label’s artwork. The Richmond Hill Lettuce label was originally used on wood crates. The crates were used to ship lettuce from a farm Henry Ford owned on the Ogeechee River. The farm was a novel idea developed by Henry Ford. His property was large and expansive, and it consisted of several rice patties on the Ogeechee River, near Richmond Hill, Ga. He drained the rice patties and had them covered for the production of lettuce. The farm operated until 1947. Vintage create labels make great conservation pieces. Crate labels are printed on other products in our collection and they make excellent additions to the decor in living areas, bedroom areas, and bathrooms. Crate labels are also printed on various accessories and apparel.
