The Prague Astronomical Clock, also known as the Orloj, is a medieval astronomical clock located in the Old Town Square of Prague, Czech Republic. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it one of the oldest astronomical clocks in the world still in operation. It consists of three main components: a astronomical dial, representing the position of the sun and moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; a calendar dial, with medallions representing the months and zodiac symbols; and a clock face, with moving statues representing the 12 apostles. Every hour, a small door at the top of the clock opens and figurines of the apostles appear, followed by a procession of the Twelve Apostles and a crowing rooster. The clock is a popular tourist attraction in Prague and is considered a masterpiece of medieval engineering.
