Heloise Suzanne Leloir was one of the great fashion plate artists of the 19th Century and was known for her highly detailed engravings. Part of a family of distinguished artists, she was the daughter of the painter Alexandre Colin and married the painter Jean-Baptiste Auguste Leloir (1809-1992). Heloise's two sisters - Anais Toudouze and Laure Noel - were also talented artists and fashion plate illustrators. Her son Maurice Leloir, began his career as an artist, and later became a film producer in Hollywood.
