“List, ah, list to the zephyr in the grove! Where beneath the happy boughs Flora builds her summerhouse: Whist! Ah, whist! While the cushat tells his love, Tells it twenty times and over. To remind a human lover. He has kiss’d-once kiss’d-for a seal on silly vows!” is a caption from the first watercolor illustration from the fairytale “Felicia or The pot of Pinks” in the book “In Powder and Crinoline,” Fairy Tales Retold by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch and illustrated by Kay Nielsen (1913). An invisible chorus sang this just before Felicia met the Queen for the first time. Stay enchanted and wondrous!
