I love Africa. This beautiful African village facing the famous Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is one of the latest and best way to observe the famous Wildebeest migration. While Tanzania is famous for its Ngorongoro crater as it is believed that the Ngorongoro Crater volcano was originally taller than, or as high as Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the highest mountains in the world. The famous native African Maasai tribe flock this area as part of their natural ancestors homeland. This is the only area where man and animal have co-existed for centuries. Remember the famous Kilimanjaro in the backyard, Mount Kilimanjaro has three volcanic cones, Mawenzi, Shira and Kibo. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct but Kibo, the highest peak, is dormant but you just never know if it could erupt again. The most recent eruption activity was about 200 years ago; the last major eruption was 360,000 years ago. When people visit Africa and specially Tanzania and Kenya, this mountain has its own history as well. Mountain climbers visit this famous place for fun and entertainment and approximately 25,000 people attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro annually. Approximately two-thirds are successful.
