Cecilia Calma, R.T.(R), is the fifth winner in the Radiologic Technology Cover Art Contest. Her submission “ArterioFlow-Tree of Life” was inspired by angiographic and computed radiography images she’s taken in her 22 months as a practicing radiographer. “They reveal the delicate and complex nature of the human body. The vessels illuminated by contrast media (in an angiogram) remind me of the twisting branches of a tree. Both images convey a sense of life flowing within.” The original was created on cotton paper using black permanent marker, a silver metallic marker and charcoal. Cecilia is a radiographer at Sentara Bayside Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. May/June 2009, Vol. 80/No. 5, RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY, an official journal of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
