Located 13 km east of Kaunas along the banks of the Nemunas River, the Rumsiskes Open Air Museum was founded in 1966 by Lithuania’s Ministry of Culture. Its purpose is to educate what life was like 1750-1950. Buildings and artifacts from many locations in Lithuania were transported here and reassembled. Though not identical, it reminded me of Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts, USA.
